Whitelisting

Ambulance Melbourne

Road crews and the clinical team at the Royal Melbourne, covering the whole city on every shift.

Applications open

What the role involves

  • Running callouts from dispatch, code one through to routine transfers.
  • Treating injuries in the field and handing over to the hospital properly.
  • Working live scenes with police, sometimes before they are safe.
  • Managing patients who are frightened, aggressive, or refusing help.
  • Carrying the other side of death RP — the part that gives it weight.
  • Mentoring graduate paramedics once you are signed off.

What we expect

Falling short is how people lose the whitelist.

  • You treat the patient, not the health bar. Ask questions before you open the kit.
  • You never revive at a scene you have not been cleared to enter.
  • You respect the new life rule and never fish for what a player forgot.
  • You stay on the callout until it is finished, even when it stops being exciting.
  • You are polite to people having the worst day of their lives, in and out of character.

How this application is handled

  1. Submit

Answer everything in one sitting if you can. You cannot edit an application once it is in, so read it back first.

  2. Review

Two members of the recruiting team read it independently. You hear back within 4 business days either way.

  3. Interview

A 20-minute voice interview on Discord. Expect scenarios, not trivia — we want to hear how you think.

  4. Outcome

Accepted, and you start with a mentor on your first shift. Declined, and you get the reason plus when you can apply again.
